Zac Efron: Clean Cut Cutie

It’s a well-known fact that actors and actresses undergo makeovers for certain film roles, and it looks like Zac Efron is the latest to modify his look for a gig. The “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” stud was spotted making his exit from La Peer Salon in Beverly Hills, California yesterday (July 2) sporting a much shorter coif. And as it turns out, the cropped locks could be purposeful- he’s gearing up to star in the upcoming drama “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.” Prior to his haircut, Zac had been letting his hair grow shaggy since his promotional tour for “17 Again.” No worries, though- he still looks hot!

Vanessa Hudgens: Spreading Her Wings

It looks like Vanessa Hudgens is following in boyfriend Zac Efron’s footprints, as the “High School Musical” star wants to break away from her clean-cut Disney image and put a halt on musicals for awhile. The 20-year-old actress wants to strive for more serious films to mix up her acting skills, as well as sharpen them. “I mean, I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart. At the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films. It’s a lot of fun playing different characters and taking on new journeys,” she told MTV. And Vanessa wants nothing but to keep focused on her new goal. “Honestly, I’m kind of taking a break from music right now. I’m just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I’m doing something I really want, I focus on that and try to not spread myself all over the place.” Meanwhile, earlier this year, boyfriend and co-star Zac Efron pulled out of a role in the remake of “Footloose,” due to worries he would not be taken as a serious actor and only be offered more singing-and-dancing spots in the movie world.

Zac Efron: Beer Run

Making the most of the little free time which his schedule provides, Zac Efron was spotted making his rounds in Los Angeles on Tuesday (June 30). Switching up outfits during the course of the day, the “17 Again” stud joined up with a pal to pick up some Corona brews to cool off from the summertime heat. Aside from spending time with friends, Efron has also managed to line up a number of new movie roles including “The Life and Death of Charlie St. Cloud”. As a matter of fact, the “High School Musical” star spent the weekend learning how to sail as part of the requirements for his new character.

Zac Efron: Sailor in Training

Getting a helping hand as he tries to build up his nautical skills, Zac Efron was spotted out at Marina del Rey in Los Angeles on Friday (June 26). Doing so as he prepares for a new role, the “High School Musical” hunk joined a seasoned sailor in practicing aboard a small sailboat during the sunny afternoon outing. As for the role which he’s working on, Efron will be starring in a new movie called “The Life and Death of Charlie St. Cloud”. Per IMDB, the film is about “Charlie St. Cloud, a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother - so much so that he takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which his brother is buried. Charlie has a special lasting bond with his brother though, as he can see him. Charlie meets up with his brother (Sam) each night to play catch and talk. Then, a girl comes into Charlie’s life and he must choose between keeping a promise he made to Sam, or going after the girl he loves.”

Zac Efron’s “Funny or Die” Shoot

Hard at work on a gag video, Zac Efron teamed up with Breckin Meyer and Seth Green at a studio in Burbank on Tuesday afternoon (June 23). The trio teamed up for a “Funny or Die” video, making fun of the dramatic happenings between celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am. Upon finishing their secret shoot, the trio eased their way outside past paparazzi, with Zac looking a bit overdressed for the warm weather in a grey v-neck t-shirt, jeans and a grey knit cap. As for the “Funny or Die” video, it finds Zac and pal Breckin dealing with their own issues - with hilarity ensuing.
