Zac Efron To Be Honored at Maui Film Festival

He’s made quite a name for himself in the few years that he’s been acting, and now Zac Efron is set to be honored at the Maui Film Festival later this month. The “High School Musical” stud will be given the Shining Star Award during a ceremony on June 16th to recognize his impressive career. Given that this year’s theme is “Trust the Future,” festival director Barry Rivers says it’s no coincidence that Efron is going to be honored. Rivers told press that Zac is an “exemplary shining star,” both for his film successes and his lack of scandal, unlike many of his young Hollywood contemporaries.

Tending the day's busy agenda, Vanessa Hudgens was spotted making time to visit a friend's house in Woodland Hills, California on Wednesday (June 2). The "Sucker Punch" sweetheart looked quite stylish on this particular day, though she seemed to be having a bit of a tough go with her open toe platform flats as she nearly twisted her ankle while walking out to her car. As previously reported, Miss Hudgens was out on the town the prior night at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza for the Crystal + Lucy Awards. Acting as one of the night's speakers, Nessa mingled with fellow attendees including "Twilight" star Nikki Reed and former "Friends" beauties Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston.

The “High School Musical” babe looked amazing as she arrived at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City sporting a leggy sheer black dress and a big smile. Miss Hudgens looked to be having a marvelous time as she mingled with fellow celebs like Nikki Reed and Courteney Cox before taking the stage to give a speech to the crowd. In related news, Cox said she’d love to have Vanessa’s main man Zac Efron on her show “Cougartown.” “Zac Efron would be perfect, but he probably has too much confidence to be real prey for a cougar.”

The “High School Musical” babe was spotted out and about in Los Angeles yesterday (May 27) and surprisingly she did a little illegal parking. Rather than using a regular parking spot for her swanky Audi convertible, Miss Hudgens opted for a handicapped reserved space. In related news, CBS has changed up the release date of Vanessa’s “Beastly,” though the new date has not yet been announced.

Joe Jonas and Zac Efron Love the Lakers

It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA, and last night (May 27) the young Hollywood hunks were in the house to watch them beat the Phoenix Suns. Zac Efron and Ryan Rottman looked thoroughly enthusiastic as they shared a high-five following a big play by the home team. Zac and Ryan scored primo courtside seats at the Staples Center, ending up next to “Vampire Diaries” stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder.
Also at the game were newly-single Joe Jonas and his good guy pals Martin Barlan and Robert Schwartzman, who were seen tweeting about the Lakers’ killer plays.
